At Youth Opportunities Unlimited we believe in the housing-first philosophy. Safe and affordable housing should be available without barriers for those experiencing homelessness and precarious housing. Once housed, we continue to provide the necessary support that individuals need to maintain their housing.
We offer a variety of housing programs and services at YOU, including…
- Cornerstone Housing: Affordable, supportive transitional housing for youth. Youth who move into YOU’s Cornerstone building work with Housing Stability Workers on self-identified goals in order to successfully transition into independent living.
- 340 Housing: The Children’s Aid Society (CAS) of London Middlesex has identified an urgent need for housing for youth over the age of 16 aging out of care. Through partnership with CAS, YOU is able to offer supportive, transitional housing to these youth.
- Housing First for Youth Mobile Team and Rapid Re-Housing: Funded through the City of London, YOU works with the city's coordinated access system to support youth experiencing homelessness. Youth in both programs receive intensive client-centered supports in both finding and maintaining housing in the community.
- Housing Case Manager: Youth experiencing homelessness or precarious housing will receive support in the form of advocacy, locating affordable housing, and connecting with the appropriate supports.

“I got housed at the Cornerstone building when I was experiencing homelessness at age 23, where I currently reside with my two cats. I met with a Housing Stability Worker from the Youth Action Centre, and he got me housed within a month. YOU helped me gain work experience, get employed, get housed when in crisis, regain my independence, and know who I can turn to for help.” – Alicia
